After carefully reviewing the devastating results of Hurricane Maria and the ongoing recovery activities, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Annual Meeting for 2017.
As you will have seen on the news, Puerto Rico is challenged to deal with a host of problems, not least getting power and water supplies back, and immense logistical issues in food, water and re-building. While we have a great deal of faith in the island’s recovery, we think it will take some time.
We would also like to emphasize that there are no issues that will affect your Protected Captive® or the creation of new captives. We are in touch with our local representatives and expect them to be in full operational mode within the next week.
We are discussing the possibility of hosting a webinar on Friday, October 27th with our experts to discuss issues such as Captive legislation, Risk Management, Tax impacts and other key issues. We will update you shortly on the planning for this event.
I am sure you share our disappointment at this news and our concern for the people of Puerto Rico. We hope that from this unprecedented event, there will be many good things – not least the re-building of a more resilient infrastructure.
